1. Who is responsible

The controller responsible for data processing on sponsor.codes ("SponsorCodes", "we") is:

This policy is written to satisfy the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for visitors from the European Economic Area, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we process

Account data

You can browse SponsorCodes without an account. If you sign in, we use Google sign-in and store the profile information Google provides: your name, email address, and profile picture. We never see or store your Google password.

Cookies

We set only strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in, plus short-lived cookies that secure the sign-in flow. We use no analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies — which is why you don't see a cookie banner on this site.

Content you submit

Anything you actively submit is stored together with your account: discount codes, votes on codes, reports of problematic codes, and — if you apply to become a creator — your creator profile including display name and social media links.

Technical data

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical connection data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and to protect it against attacks and abuse. We additionally use submission counts per account for rate limiting.

3. Why we process it

• To provide the service (performance of a contract): account sign-in, storing and displaying your submissions, voting.
• To keep the platform safe (legitimate interest): moderation of submitted codes, processing reports, rate limiting, abuse and spam prevention.

We do not sell personal data, run advertising profiles, or make automated decisions with legal effect.

4. What is public

Discount codes you submit are public. If you are an approved creator, your creator profile (display name, description, avatar, social links) and the codes linked to it are public. Individual votes and reports are not published — votes only appear as aggregate counts, and reports are visible only to administrators.

5. Who receives data

We use two service providers (processors):

• Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) — hosting, content delivery, and database infrastructure.
• Google LLC (USA) — sign-in via Google OAuth.

Both providers are certified under the Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the Swiss and EU authorities recognize as providing adequate data protection for transfers to the United States.

Some links on this site are affiliate links pointing to third-party shops. Tracking related to such links happens on the merchant's website under the merchant's own privacy policy — we set no tracking cookies on sponsor.codes.

6. How long we keep data

Account data is kept as long as your account exists. When your account is deleted, your votes and reports are deleted with it; codes you submitted are either deleted or de-identified so they are no longer linked to you.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights — including deleting your account — email contact@sponsor.codes. Account deletion is currently handled manually and confirmed by email.

In Switzerland you may lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). If you are in the EEA, you may complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Changes

We will update this policy when our data processing changes and adjust the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
